Build capability before the pressure hits.
Firebreak Advisory helps RTOs, non-profits, government agencies and emergency-facing organisations fix training, strengthen volunteer systems and build practical resilience before disruption turns small cracks into operational failure.
What We Fix
Pressure without prep
Training capability Gaps
Operational Friction
Turn tangled processes into clear pathways
For RTOs, non-profits and government agencies with confusing systems, poor user experience, unclear content, duplicated effort or internal processes that make good work harder than it needs to be.
Turn training into performance, not paperwork
For RTOs, agencies and non-profits with clunky courses, weak assessment tools or learning content that looks compliant but fails in practice.
Practical resilience for people under pressure
For frontline, emergency-facing or high-pressure teams needing practical psychological readiness and resilience systems.
Our Services
-
For organisations that need training, assessment or learning products redesigned so they are clear, usable and connected to real-world performance.
This may include course design, assessment review, learner resources, facilitator guides, workshops, scenario-based exercises and training system improvements.
Best for: RTOs, agencies, councils, non-profits and emergency-facing organisations.
-
For teams that operate under pressure and need more than generic wellbeing advice.
We help organisations build practical psychological readiness, trauma-aware leadership habits, debriefing practices and resilience systems before people are already stretched thin.
Best for: Frontline teams, emergency-facing organisations, volunteer groups and high-pressure workplaces.
-
For organisations whose systems, content or processes are technically in place but difficult for people to use.
We review the way people move through a process, identify duplication and friction, and redesign the experience so the system becomes easier to use than avoid.
Best for: RTOs, non-profits, agencies, internal teams and service delivery environments.

Who we are
Firebreak Advisory helps organisations build capability before the pressure arrives.
The name Firebreak comes from emergency management: a firebreak is a deliberate space created to stop a fire from spreading. It does not remove every risk, but it changes the conditions so one spark does not become a disaster. That same idea sits at the heart of our work.
Founded by our principal consultant Gunnar Hardy, Firebreak Advisory supports emergency-facing teams, RTOs, non-profits, government agencies and community organisations to become safer, clearer and better prepared for disruption.
Gunnar brings more than a decade of experience across emergency services, crisis communications, public information, work health and safety, training design, volunteer leadership and community capability building. He has led emergency response teams, coordinated complex operational environments, developed practical training systems, supported frontline volunteers and worked across emergency management, health, education, media and community resilience.
Gunnar is also the creator of The Firebreak Method, a practical approach to resilience and capability building that helps organisations identify weak points, reduce avoidable risk, strengthen people and systems, and build capability that holds under pressure.
Firebreak Advisory exists for organisations that need more than decorative paperwork. We help turn plans into habits, training into behaviour, and risk into readiness.
Because resilience is not built by accident. It is designed before the sirens start.
